Support group offered to adults grieving loss of parent
It can be complicated, the loss of a parent. There may be a sense of relief if one’s parent has been suffering or sick for an extended length of time. But there may also be unexpected grief and sense of loss – unexpected because most consider that they will lose their parents during their lifetime.
Karen Gore, LICSW, Bereavement Coordinator for NVNA and Hospice explores these dynamics and more in a Monday evening support group that begins April 27. The group meets for eight (8) weeks at NVNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive in Norwell. Open to all residents of the South Shore, pre-registration is required by speaking with Karen Gore at 781-659-2342.
Karen helps participants look at changing roles and responsibilities, loss of relationships, and how to care for oneself when grieving for a parent. The group is offered free of charge but it’s important to speak with Karen first, so give her a call at 781-659-2342.
